Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has given a go-ahead for a project to document the history of India’s frontiers. The project will make people aware of the borders and people living in border regions.

The length of Indian borders is approximately 15,106.7 km. Line of Actual Control has already seen many confrontations due to different perceptions.

Its been proposed to cover various aspects of borders including tracing its earlier state, it's making, shifting of border, roles of security forces in protecting borders and its impact on socio-economic lives of the Indian people. Ministry of Defence estimated that this work may complete in the next two years.
